The Kirklees Healthy Choice Award is a partnership initiative between Kirklees Council and Kirklees NHS Kirklees. It also incorporates the Five-A-Day Campaign.
About the Healthy Choice Award
The award is a way of acknowledging businesses that practice good standards of food hygiene (3 stars and above), offer healthy food.
It is renewable every two years.
The award is open to all businesses selling/providing food, for example catering outlets, supermarkets,
sandwich shops, takeaways, restaurants, cafes, schools, nurseries, public houses, hotels, clubs, canteens, care homes and childminders
etc.
We are also able to offer the award to Fastfood outlets/takeaways if they are able to demonstrate they offer some healthier options
on their menu as an alternative to the traditional fast food they serve. Please email
fine.project@kirklees.gov.uk

The council believes that are there a number of food businesses in the district that provide and maintain a high
standard of food safety and deserve to be recognised for their efforts.
