Ebenezer Methodist Drama Group (Hanging Heaton)

Description

  1. Amateur dramatics - puts on three productions per year in February, May and November. We are attached to Ebenezer Methodist Church, Hanging Heaton, Batley but our membership is open to any interested parties. We serve the local area.

    We do not have regular 'meetings' as such, but rehearsals are held two or three times weekly for approximately six weeks prior to production. An Executive committee meets as required (usually monthly) to deal with ongoing matters. A general meeting of the members is held in January annually and the AGM is held in June.

History

  1. The current group was established in 1960's although plays were performed on this site before this date.

    Pantomimes were performed during 1970's and 1980's using members of the Sunday School from 3 years upwards.

    Adult casts were used mid 1980's

    This year sees the 50th Anniversary of the current group.

    An Executive committee administers the day to day activities and two general group meetings are held in January and June - the latter being the Annual General meeting.
