About the venue

    From Roman finds to textiles; from birds to transport, Tolson is a treasure house of the fascinating, the curious and the amazing.

    Visiting groups should book.

    Christmas closing dates:
    The Museum will be closed from Wednesday 24 December to Friday 2 January. It will reopen as normal on Saturday 3 January.

    From 1 March to 31 October summer opening hours:
    Tuesday to Friday 11am to 5pm;
    Saturday and Sunday 12noon to 5pm.
    Monday: Museum closed.

    From 1 November to 28 February winter opening hours:
    Tuesday to Thursday 11am to 4pm;
    Saturday and Sunday 12noon to 4pm.
    Monday and Friday: Museum closed.
