Your Tenancy Agreement says that you must pay all your rent and any service charges. This is due every Monday for the week to come and providing you pay your rent before the Friday your account will not go into arrears. The first payment is due at the start of the tenancy.

If you are joint tenants, you are both responsible for paying all the rent and rent you owe. If one leaves your home you are both still fully responsible.

Rent is due on 48 weeks of the year, except sometimes when a year has 53 Mondays, in which case rent is due on 49 weeks of the year. This means that if you are up to date with your rent you will not have to pay rent on four weeks of the year. These are August Bank Holiday, Christmas, New Year and the last week of March.

The exact dates are shown on your annual notification of rent charge letter sent out in March.
