Support services for younger and older people

housing@knh.org.uk

KNH provides a number of specialist services to support younger and older customers:

Older People's Service (55+)

KNH is committed to improving the quality of life, well-being and independence of older people. We aim to provide high quality services by listening to our customers and discussing their needs.

  • Sheltered housing - KNH manages 19 sheltered housing schemes throughout Kirklees. These properties are owned by the council and provide individual and communal accommodation to people over the age of 60.
  • Housing support for older people - most older people want to live independently in their own homes for as long as they can. This is where our Support Service can help.

Young People's Service (16-25)

Nearly a third of those currently on the Kirklees housing register are aged between 16 and 25.

Our aim is to support young people into adulthood by improving their housing opportunities and creating successful, long-lasting tenancies. We will tackle the barriers that prevent young people from accessing suitable housing and we will celebrate the success of young people who achieve independent living.
