Local residents are being invited to have their say on public rights of way in Kirklees.
The council is developing a Rights of Way Improvement Plan to look at how the network can best meet the needs of people who live or work in Kirklees, and also those who visit the area, but views are being sought before it is finalised.
To have your say on the document, please go to http://www.kirklees.gov.uk/community/yoursay/prow/prow.asp. Alternatively, there will be a special forum meeting at the National Children’s Centre, Upperhead Row, Huddersfield, on Thursday July 29 (7pm).
Local rights of way are a significant part of our heritage and a major recreational resource, enabling people to enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside when they might not otherwise have access.
They can provide a convenient means of travelling, particularly for short journeys, and they also boost tourism and help people to enjoy fresh air and exercise.
