Living History Session at Oakwell Hall - August 8

The next Living History afternoon at Oakwell Hall in Birstall on Sunday, August 8, will look at the many uses for honey with demonstrations in the 17th Century kitchen.

In addition, there will be short talks on the history of herbs and a challenge for visitors to see how many of our wild flowers they can identify.

There will also be children's activities of various kinds, including simple stitching, and a tea stall. Completing the afternoon will be costumed tours each hour from 1pm to 4pm – places must be booked in advance.

The activities are free but normal Hall admission prices will apply. Charges are adults £2, children £1, families £5.50 (discounts for Kirklees Passport holders).

For further information or to book places on the tours contact Oakwell Hall, Nutter Lane, Birstall, tel: 01924 326240.
