Kirkburton, Denby Dale and Golcar Library and Information Centres are now issuing Kirklees Passports.
They join other centres across Kirklees already issuing Kirklees Passports: Cleckheaton, Heckmondwike, Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Mirfield, Batley, Meltham, Shepley, Birstall, Birkby/Fartown, Lindley, Deighton and Skelmanthorpe Library and Information Centres. They are also issued at the Kirklees Information Points in Civic Centre 1 in Huddersfield, Dewsbury Town Hall, Peel Street, Marsden and the Library and Information Centres at Rawthorpe/Dalton and Thornhill Lees.
Any resident of Kirklees who receives certain benefits, such as council tax or housing benefit, or certain types of tax credit, qualifies for the card. Full time students over 16, people with a disability and those who are registered as unemployed are also eligible.
Kirklees Passport, which costs either £2 or £3 a card per year with half-price cards for children, gives great savings on things like sport and leisure activities, car parking, environmental services and lots lots more. They include 50% off swimming, up to 25% off other sporting activities, an extra hour’s car parking free, 50% off DVD, CD and video loans and up to 100% off part-time adult education courses.
A number of private businesses also offer discounts to Kirklees Passports holders. Savings include driving lessons and some high street shops.
