North Kirklees Riding Route leaflet

A new, improved ‘North Kirklees Riding Route’ leaflet is now available from Kirklees Council outlets.

The original leaflet, first issued around five years ago, had gone out of print. The reprinted leaflet has been redesigned to contain a clearer and better map and the information has been updated to include the greenways that have been developed over recent years.

The route starts from Oakwell Hall and Country Park in Birstall. The leaflet details an 18mile main route and an alternative shorter route of 7miles.

The North Kirklees Riding Route is intended to provide a pleasant day ride to explore some rural areas of North Kirklees. No special type of bicycle is required, as most of the route is on surfaced country roads and the bridleways on the route are easily accessible.
