These included 5 a side football tournament and table football competitions and many other football themed events.

The Mayor’s charity, Combat Stress, offers specialist care to military veterans who have suffered a range of psychological damage as a result of their combat experiences.

On Monday 19 July, the Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Andrew Palfreeman, visited the Streetscene offices in Fartown to present trophies to the competition winners and to receive a cheque for his charity.

Streetscene’s Charity Team presented the Mayor with a cheque for £600 for Combat Stress. The Mayor said the money would be directed to help local veterans and thanked Streetscene staff for their efforts and contribution to this very worthwhile cause.
