Members of the public can voice their opinions on Kirklees Museums and Galleries by joining visitor focus groups being held in October.
The focus groups are part of a drive to improve customer service and members can have their say on anything to do with the council’s museums and galleries – from first impressions of the car park to the displays and even the loos!
They are being held on Saturday, October 2, with a morning session at Oakwell Hall Country Park, Birstall, and an afternoon session at Tolson Museum in Huddersfield.
“We want people’s visits to our museums and galleries to be memorable because they have been enjoyable and informative. Who better to ask how to improve levels of satisfaction than the people for whom we are providing these facilities. The focus groups are a step towards making our award-winning museums and galleries even more attractive to more people,” commented Councillor Mary Harkin, Kirklees Cabinet Member for Regeneration.
The focus groups are being held as part of a ‘Warm Welcome’ initiative which will also include staff training. ‘Warm Welcome` has been funded by Renaissance Yorkshire as part of its 2012 Ready programme to improve visitor services and prepare museums and galleries in the region for the Olympic year.
Anyone interested in taking part in the focus groups can complete a form which is available at any Kirklees museum or gallery or contact Emma Crowley, Customer Service Development Officer, tel: 01484 223800/01924 326240, email: emma.crowley@kirklees.gov.uk
