Bob Flowerdew at Dewsbury Show - August 8

There’s a special treat in store for gardeners at this year’s Dewsbury Flower, Vegetable and Handicraft Show on Sunday, August 8.

Celebrity gardener Bob Flowerdew will be at the show, being held in Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury, from 11am and will be chatting with visitors and giving a short talk on reducing the amount of work you need to do in the garden. He will also take part in a Gardeners’ Question Time, from 12.30pm to 2pm, when he will be answering questions and taking a look at any plants brought along.

Bob, a leading organic gardener, landscape consultant, agricultural college teacher and panellist on BBC Radio 4's Gardeners' Question Time, will be joined on the Gardeners Question Time panel by Julian Faulkner (Kirklees Social Forestry Officer) and Michael Brook (Chair of Kirklees Wildlife and Landscape Advisory Forum).

Anyone with questions should submit them in advance of this free session by contacting Ann Williams, tel: 01484 234018, email: annl.williams@kirklees.gov.uk

There is a 50p entry charge to the flower show for 16s and over. The show will also be open to the public from 1pm to 4.30pm on Saturday, August 7.

This event is part of the 'Outdoor Dewsbury Festival' which runs from Saturday, July 31, to Sunday, August 8. The festival is being funded by Dewsbury Area Committee to launch 'Outdoor Dewsbury', a long-term initiative to get people outdoors and active, and enjoying the countryside, parks and green spaces on their doorstep in Dewsbury.
