Create a mythical beast for Bagshaw Museum

Youngsters are being encouraged to let their imaginations run wild and bring to life some of the mythical beasts on display at Bagshaw Museum in Batley.

The museum in Wilton Park, Batley, is running a children’s competition during August which uses the creatures featured in its ‘Mythical Beasts’ gallery as inspiration. They have to choose one of three special objects on display and make up their own legend about it.

Children 6 years and under have to draw a picture, 7-15 years olds have to write a story. The winning pictures and stories will be displayed in the gallery and there will also be small prizes awarded.

Entry forms will be available from the museum from Sunday, August 1. The closing date is Tuesday, August 31. Call in or contact the museum, tel: 01924 326155, for further information.
